Your role:
As Elevator/Seed Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day operations for elevator and seed departments ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed Safety. Includes directly managing 2 locations with oversight of a third. Propose, initiate and budget capital improvement projects with input from Elevator Director of Operations, Engineering and local Management including coordination of contractor work and planning. Maintain and improve safe work environment and schedule efficient operations of the department to meet budget requirements.

Your responsibilities:
· Oversees all operations for the elevator department, including bin checks, bin cleaning, inventory management, and grain condition management. This includes supporting all Ardent Mills Pulses locations (Pullman, WA; Wilma, WA; Steptoe, WA).
· Works with Quality and Operations to maximize mix and blend opportunities.
· Oversees all operations for the seed department, including seed cleaning production schedule, seed treatment operations, and seed loadout.
· Must obtain all necessary training and certifications to lead/perform seed treatment.
· Works with Risk to build relationships with local growers and understand their needs.
· Oversees the Certified Seed Program.
· Oversees rail pipeline at Wilma.
· Oversees and executes day-to-day operations for department ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety.
· Partners with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures.
· Manage budget, projects, facility structure, equipment, improvement ideas and capital spending in the department. Work with engineering and elevator ops to create and institute solutions to problems, submit CIR’s and manage projects. Learn and manage asset life to extend current assets as long as feasibly possible. Create good relationship with engineering resources to get the best solution and results for issues facing the department. Serve on pillar teams or company elevator teams to assist in improving elevator operations.
· Provides relief duties to Production Manager & Maintenance Manager in their absence.
· Monitors production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations for continuous improvements
· Participate and lead process improvement initiatives including Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely)
· Partners with local plant management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)
· Develops planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees.
· Perform grain inventory and provide corrective actions/investigations to solve for any inventory variance outside of variance range in the digital vs. physical count
· Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition as well as development and coaching to hourly team members
Essential skills and experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma/GED equivalent with 4 years of production experience
· Minimum of 1 years’ experience having leadership responsibilities in an elevator or industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
· Demonstrated understanding of safety hazards and protocols
· Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems
Good to have:
· 2+ years in a leadership role within an elevator
· Knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting cleaning, and conveying systems
· Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes
· Reliability centered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices.
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
· Ability to perform work at a computer and other administrative/managerial tasks
· Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
· Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
· Ability to work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:
· Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)
· Indoor/Outdoor environment
· Dusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens)
· Noisy environment
· Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes
· Elevated Places
· Ability to perform work safely which may require:
· Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels
· Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders
· Occasionally lifting, shoveling and/or carrying
· Occasionally pushing and/or pulling
· Working in confined or elevated places
Other considerations:
· Must be able to read, interpret instruction and technology and communicate effectively in English
· Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days (days, evenings, and nights) as well as weekends or holiday work.
· Must be authorized to work in the Unites states without sponsorship now and in the future
